Women's Asics Gel Kayano 18

This is the latest in the Kayano series which has inspired a loyal following all over the world. It’s 15g lighter than the previous model and they’ve worked on improving the way the shoe feels on the supported medial side. They’ve put a softer layer between the foot and the Duomax Support System for added comfort.

The support system is “dynamic” so it can react to the movement of the foot and the flex grove is deeper. This results in a smoother, more natural ride. On the upper you have elastic between the eyelets where the laces go through to disperse lace tension on the top of the foot and reduce possible irritation. The lacing is assymetric-following the natural curve of the foot and giving a better fit. This shoe is designed specifically for women. Because women are lighter than men, there is a layer of a less dense material on the midsole of the forefoot for gender specific cushioning .It’s also 3mm higher at the heel than the men’s to relieve tension on the Achilles tendon.

• Gender Specific Space Trusstic- lightweight plastic bridge under the arch which gives the shoe strength and stability without loss of flexibility with space which allows for the normal periodic changes in the shape of a woman’s arch.
