The Clifton 9 features a thicker midsole, revamped upper, tongue and heel collar for improved fit and feel. Three millimetres of responsive but soft CMEVA foam has been added into the midsole to offer you increased comfort. Hoka’s oversized cushioning protects the legs from the effects of impact. The built in Early Stage Meta-Rocker rolls you forward to encourage an efficient gait cycle.
Recycled materials have been used to produce the new upper. The engineered knit mesh keeps its technical properties. The seamless upper is accurately shaped for an incredible fit; it also ventilates the feet allowing them to breathe. The upgraded tongue is lighter, crafted with precision to keep your foot in secure comfort. The new heel collar has extra padding.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE FOR RUNNING SHOES
Your running shoe size will generally be 1 to 1.5 sizes bigger than your regular (‘dress’) shoe size. Bear in mind also that one foot can be slightly bigger than the other.
LENGTH
First, kick your foot back into the heel of each shoe before checking how much space is left at the front. When standing in each shoe with your full weight on the foot, it’s best to have between half and a full thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
WIDTH
When standing in the shoe, it’s best to have a little wiggle room for the toes, but the back of heel should still feel nicely secure.
SPIKES
Sprint spikes are best when a close fit. Distance spikes best when up to a half a thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
