Description

Saucony is adding women’s trail running shoe, the Peregrine RFG, to their sustainable collection. The bio-based midsole offers the same properties as its non-sustainable version: softness for comfort and responsiveness for rebound. The rubber on the outsole is made 50% from recycled tyres. Its technical grip is 5mm deep, to promote incredible traction over multiple ground surfaces.

Details

Ideal Use:

Trail running and training, walking.

Upper:

The upper of Peregrine RFG (run for good) provides a snug fit to keep your feet in place on uneven surfaces. The breathable mesh allows air circulation to keep them dry throughout you run.

Midsole:

The midsole is made mostly from renewable resources to support the environment. It is composed from two foams to offer you the soft feeling underfoot alongside of responsiveness for powerful push off. The PWRRUN BIO+ midsole is produced 55% from corn. The bottom performance foam, the PWRRUN BIO is made 36% from bio-based materials.

Outersole:

This sustainable manufacturing process helps reduce waste and protects the environment by repurposing old tires for a new purpose. The Austin Rubber outsole is durable and long-lasting, providing reliable traction on trail terrain but also promoting sustainability.

More About Saucony

Saucony was founded way back in 1898. Since then, they have been loyal to running, continuing to innovate and renew themselves, and to incorporate more sustainable running gear into their range. By 2024 their goal is to use no virgin plastic, and by 2030 to be 100% circular.

Behind their “Run for Good” logo hides a passion for creating the best footwear, while still maintaining their distinguished designs. These are characterised by a use of colour and not being afraid to break the mould.

In their effort to support sustainability, many of their popular running shoes have started using 100% recycled uppers, like their Saucony Endorphin Collection, Triumph, Omni, Kinvara or Excursion. We are excited to see that their road and trail running shoes are moving in the right direction.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE FOR RUNNING SHOES
Your running shoe size will generally be 1 to 1.5 sizes bigger than your regular (‘dress’) shoe size. Bear in mind also that one foot can be slightly bigger than the other.

LENGTH
First, kick your foot back into the heel of each shoe before checking how much space is left at the front. When standing in each shoe with your full weight on the foot, it’s best to have between half and a full thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.

WIDTH
When standing in the shoe, it’s best to have a little wiggle room for the toes, but the back of heel should still feel nicely secure.

SPIKES
Sprint spikes are best when a close fit. Distance spikes best when up to a half a thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
