The IceBreaker 200 Sonebula Baselayer is another worthy component of the brand's winter running apparel. The combination of merino wool and moisture-wicking technology make for a unique blend of warmth and thermal regulation, to ensure comfort in colder weather conditions.
I decided to test IceBreaker’s 200 Sonebula Baselayer on a Seven Sisters hike, on a particularly cold, windy day. Having layered the base layer with only a few other pieces, I could notice the difference it alone was making. Throughout the duration of the hike, I didn’t overheat and felt like the wind wasn’t hitting me as hard as I expected it to. It offered a snug fit – a style I wouldn’t normally have gone for – but I believe that helped in the pursuit of keeping warm and feeling comfortable.
As is often the case with Icebreaker, it is the brand’s effective use of natural merino wool which makes the apparel feel so soft and warm, whilst retaining an optimal level of breathability. The 200 Sonebula Baselayer displays these same outstanding features and can work as a key part of your outdoor adventure wardrobe – hikes, runs and dog walks included!
