Description

The Hoka Challenger 7 Wide is a lightweight, super-cushioned trail running shoe, designed for roads, mountains and everything in between. This 7th generation Challenger in the wide fitting has an improved outsole for better traction. More recycled materials have been used to support the environment. Built on a 5mm drop for a balanced ride on irregular ground.

Details

The improved upper features more recycled yarn than its predecessor to support the environment. It maintains its breathable features to keep your feet ventilated. The traditional lacing system provides secure structure.

The thick durable EVA midsole is moulded to provide your feet with comfort. An early meta stage rocker ensures smooth transition from heel to forefoot, and from hard surface to trail.

The wide outsole design guarantees surefooted stability on uneven terrain. Breathable construction on the upper holds the midfoot comfortably and securely. 4mm lugs are now broader and closer together to provide excellent traction on trail surfaces.

Built with a 5mm drop (stack heights: 29mm heel, 24mm forefoot) to enable an even ride. Plenty of responsive cushioning in the forefoot where you put the most pressure in the toe off phase.

  • Compression moulded EVA midsole delivers bouncy cushioning
  • Breathable upper holds foot securely in comfort
  • Early stage Meta-Rocker maintains smooth ride
  • Durable zonal rubber outsole for increased durability
  • 16% of upper mesh is made from recycled polyester
  • 92% of heel mesh is made from recycled material
  • Tongue mesh, pull tab, sockliner top cloth and collar mesh is made 100% from recycled plastic
  • 87% of Strobel board is made from recycled plastic
  • Laces are made from recycled materials
  • Lug depth: 4mm
  • Offset: 5mm (forefoot: 21mm, heel: 26mm)
  • Weight: 229g

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE FOR RUNNING SHOES
Your running shoe size will generally be 1 to 1.5 sizes bigger than your regular (‘dress’) shoe size. Bear in mind also that one foot can be slightly bigger than the other.

LENGTH
First, kick your foot back into the heel of each shoe before checking how much space is left at the front. When standing in each shoe with your full weight on the foot, it’s best to have between half and a full thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.

WIDTH
When standing in the shoe, it’s best to have a little wiggle room for the toes, but the back of heel should still feel nicely secure.

SPIKES
Sprint spikes are best when a close fit. Distance spikes best when up to a half a thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
