The much anticipated addition to the Shokz family of bone-conduction headphones. The OpenSwim Pro has been upgraded with Bluetooth mode, whilst retaining its long battery life and sleek design.
I already own a pair of OpenRun Pro, which are the only headphones I use for my runs, promoting a safer environment when out in the darker hours. However, I must admit to my initial scepticism regarding the OpenSwim Pro, as I couldn’t quite understand that headphones underwater – particularly using bone conduction technology – could work in the same way.
When using them for trial, I stored some music in the MP3 player and tested the new Bluetooth mode with a podcast. Both sounded crystal clear, and I went swimming for close to an hour! I was impressed but continued to be completely taken aback when I called a friend to test the dual noise-reduction technology. As hoped, it sounded as if I had my phone to hand!
It’s safe to say, all my scepticism is out of the window now.
The OpenSwim Pro is a valuable addition to the Shokz range, given its versatility, which allows it to be worn in and out of the water. Having previously been limited to MP3 only, this version of OpenSwim also provides a Bluetooth mode. This is an incredible upgrade and will benefit both runners and swimmers alike.
