Asics is one of my favourite brands, but I was never a big fan of the Nimbus. The 26th version has been a revelation for me – I find it extremely comfortable and noticeably lighter than previous versions.
As a slight overpronator, I tend to run in mid-stability shoes or stable neutral ones. Even though I can still feel a bit of stability provided by the TRUSSTIC™ technology in the arch, it's all thanks to the maximal cushioning this shoe has. It's become my go-to shoe for easy road miles.
The new upper is very stretchy and comfy, but it seems to come up a bit smaller, probably due to the narrow toe-box shape. I had to go half a size up from usual.
In conclusion, the Asics Gel Nimbus 26 is an excellent choice if you have a fairly neutral gait. A great choice if you also love maximum cushioning, as well as general comfort on your long runs and walks.
