The expectation from Hoka is always that of a running shoe which provides a light, but incredibly comfortable running experience. I am pleased to report that this ninth, and newest version of the popular Clifton model has delivered just that, and more. The extra 3mm of CMEVA foam padding has made an observable difference to the comfort and cushioning, and I felt even less impact during my longer runs, which would otherwise result in soreness akin to shin splints.
The meta-rocker technology was not overbearing either and I felt that my natural gait was not being disturbed, only supported to improve in efficiency. The reflective detailing made it a great choice for my runs in the evenings or foggy mornings, and the convenience and comfort meant that I ended up using the Cliftons more often than my usual pair of running shoes.
Ideal for neutral runners, the Hoka Clifton 9 offers much improved cushioning and a secure fit, preventing injury from high levels of impact. Its sustainable approach has proved successful, with the recycled materials offering a breathable and lightweight experience, suitable for those desiring comfort – whether for runs, walks, or even at work!
