Features

Upper

• The stitched seams are almost non-existent, providing a clean and sophisticated look
• Welded heat sealing around the improved protective toe box provides great security, as is the seam-free midfoot side strapping.
• Previously too narrow for some, the wide version provides a better fit while maintaining its snug midfoot feel. It now seems to have a deeper and higher volume toe box.

Midsole

• Salomon's own cushioning, EnergyCell, makes this a great shoe for miles and miles of off-road trails. The heel has a more stable and supportive cradle.

Outsole

• The Contagrip rubber compound is perfect on dry and wet surfaces. Although you can never be too sure, it seems to be absolutely fine on wet rock too. 
• The lugs, like the previous Speedcross editions, are forward facing at the front and back of the heel, providing excellent grip, both uphill and downhill.
