I am admittedly a Brooks enthusiast and have experimented with most of their running shoe collection over the years. The cushioning Brooks provides seems to work with my natural gait, protecting against potential injuries.
However, the newest addition to their range, the Glycerin Max, is beyond what I have ever tried from the brand. On my trial runs, I felt the GlideRoll technology kick into effect immediately, feeling as if I were landing effortlessly from heel-to-toe. The cushioning felt quite light on the foot, despite how densely stacked it is.
I noticed less than normal soreness in my knees after a 10K in them too! I would continue to use them for similar distances and above, but a less padded shoe for shorter runs.
The Glycerin Max proves to be more than just an upgrade to a traditional pair of Brooks running shoes. The cushioning is indeed their most intense, and the rocker technology is a step towards modernity, which Brooks seem to have now embraced.
Long-distance runners, as well as those with joint or muscular injuries, are most likely to benefit from the features in the Glycerin Max. The primary focus of the shoe is a soft, responsive surface, which removes some of the effort of movement.
