Designed for cross country running, the Hoka Crescendo XC provides a level of comfort, durability and flexibility that goes far beyond the basics.
I was wanting to return to my golden days of cross-country running but wasn’t quite sure where to start. That is when Hoka introduced the Crescendo XC, which claimed to have reinvented the classic spikes into something more comfortable and user-friendly. So, of course, I decided to give them a whirl on a variety of surfaces.
My conclusion after multiple trial runs was that the overall grip and fit of the shoe is strong and feels like it would be able to last (if I continue this old hobby of mine!). The cushioning is also plusher and more stable in comparison to the stiff and inflexible midsoles of traditional cross-country shoes.
Hoka’s renowned comfort makes its way into the world of cross country in the form of Crescendo XC, focusing on what matters most to the runner. For cross-country runners, that is optimal grip, secure fit and a responsive landing. Hoka achieves these essentials and continues still to add cushioning and durability, both features that’ll be welcome across the board.
On your next training session, perhaps try the Crescendo XC and experience a more energised run than ever before!
